Tasmania

We left for Tasi on the 9th of Jan after chilling out for a week after new years. I'd spoken to Pete (who i meet in Young working on the cherries) who said he had worked lined up for Tom and I in Franklyn which is a little town south of another small town called Huonville. We arrived in Hobart late on the 9th so had booked into a hostel for the night. We got the bus down from Hobart to Huonville at midday the next day. We meet Pete and he told us that we would have to stay at the campsite by the river over the weekend until we could meet the farmer before work on Monday morning.
When Tom and i were hanging around Franklin we decided to buy a cheap fishing rod and try our hand at a spot of fishing, nothing really went well. Tom and i knew nothing about fishing or knots or even what type of lure or baits to use. Useless pair i know!
The sunday night we headed up to the farm and setup the tent and get ready for the 7:30 start the next morning. It was cold and we were ill prepared, we had no lunch and no water. I was working with the farmer while Tom, Pete and Joss the frenchie were off working on there own. The farmer is a good guy, he gave me his lunch and a bottle of water which was really nice of him. The days are long because doing the same thing over and over 5 days a week can get annoying. After the first few days of staying on the farm we asked dave could we move into the little out house which has beds and no power. Now named the coconut lodge is a cool little shack and i'll post some photos when i get the camera out. It has three rooms, a bedrooom, a bathroom and a living room. The shower is cold because the power is not up there, but have no fear Tom and i are geniuses and we "pimped" it out but i'll come to that later.
